Our verdict
The Tower House Hotel is the one to pick if being close to the sand matters more than anything else. It is the newest building Flexiestays runs, purpose-built on West Cliff Gardens, and the beach is at the bottom of the cliff, less than two minutes away on foot. Who it suits
Almost everyone, because the range of apartments is the widest of any Flexiestays building. Studios and one-bedroom apartments work for a couple or a solo traveller; some one-bedroom apartments have their own garden or balcony. Families and groups have two- and three-bedroom apartments, and there is a two-bedroom penthouse on the top floor that looks out to sea; the sea-view reviews are worth a look if the view is the point. Every apartment has its own kitchen, so it works as well for a month of remote work as for a long weekend.
What guests praise
The guest who named the building in a review on this site stayed in one of the lower ground floor apartments and singled out how well equipped it was: washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, an iron, plenty of sockets. The same guest liked being close to both the beach and the Bournemouth International Centre, which staying near the BIC covers in more detail. The honest caveats
Lower ground floor apartments stay cool in hot weather, which guests welcome, but the one reviewed has a dehumidifier in the bedroom that needs emptying often.
Not every apartment faces the sea. If the view is the point, book a listing that says sea view.
There is no reception. You let yourself in with a code, and the team is on the phone or WhatsApp rather than behind a desk.
The gym is not in this building. It is at The Shore House Hotel, a short walk away, and free to use at any hour.

Had a great few days staying in Tower House apartment 1. It's a well equipped unit with washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer, iron and ironing board and sockets for charging your devices. Being on the lower ground floor meant it remained a nice temperature despite the hot weather (we did have the windows open, and used the fan which helped). There is a dehumidifier in the bedroom, which does need emptying quite frequently. A great place to stay, very close to the BIC and beach, and we look forward to staying there again.
